Lemon Slice Necklace: A Unique Organic Design

Created by Silva Kegulian, the Lemon Slice Necklace is a stunning replica of a real lemon slice and its seeds. The designer, in collaboration with her husband, took the impression of a real lemon slice and cast it into metal, preserving all its natural look. The challenge was to maintain the realistic appearance of the lemon, including its veins, natural flow, and zest.

What sets this necklace apart is not only its organic design but also its eco-friendly production process. The materials used in its creation are sourced from recycled materials such as bullets, leftover copper wires, broken brass plates, and candleholders. The blend of these reclaimed metals gives the necklace a unique color and feel.

The Lemon Slice Necklace features a 1.5-inch diameter lemon slice pendant and a 32-inch long seed chain. The tassel attached to the slice ends with Lemon citrine briolettes, adding a touch of elegance to the design.

It took two weeks to complete the Lemon Slice Necklace project, with meticulous attention to detail to ensure the necklace's authenticity. The hardest part was obtaining the lemon slice intact during the molding process, as it was crucial to capture all the intricate details of a real juicy lemon slice.

The Lemon Slice Necklace has received recognition in the design industry and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2011. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The necklace's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contribute to a better world.
